The Inauguation of Mohamed Muizzu As the 9th President of the Republic of the Maldives, The ceremony took place on 17 November 2023, at the republic square of the Maldives (ޖުމުހޫރީ މައިދާން). the 6th presidential inauguration of the Maldives, was one of the biggest presidential inauguration in the Maldivian history.

Following the inauguration, Maldives National Defence Force welcomed the new president with a 21-gun salute.

Later in the night of 17 November, it was celebrated with fireworks in the capital of the Maldives, Malé.

Roles of People's Majlis[edit]

Planning & Organizing[edit]

The People's Majlis (parliament) organized and planned the event, which they decided the time of the event, (16:45)[1] and designed the stage as a replica of the parliament.[2]

Construction and cost[edit]

The construction of the Inauguration was undertaken and held by MNDF's Sifainge Welfare Company Private Limited (SIWEC). SIWEC was given MVR 22.9 Million (US$1 Million) For construction and Preparation of the ceremony.[2][3]

Attendees[edit]

A total of 3500 People attended the inaugural ceremony, including 49 delegates who came as special representatives of Presidents, Monarchs & Prime Ministers. Such attendees include former Maldivian Presidents, such as president Mohamed Nasheed, Mohamed Waheed Hassan and Muizzu's predecessor, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.[4][5]
