Asaf Yasur (Hebrew: אסף יסעור; born 17 April 2002) is an Israeli taekwondo athlete. World champion for 2021 and 2023.

Career[edit]

Yasur lost both his hands at age thirteen after suffering injuries that required amputation following an electrocution from a high-voltage electric cable.[1]

In 2019 Yasur gained his firs international medal, achieving second place at the Mexico Para Taekwondo Open Championships.[2]

Yasur won the gold medal in the 2021 World Para-Taekwondo Championships in Istanbul.[3] After winning the 2023 World Para Taekwondo Championships in Mexico, Yasur qualified for the 2024 Summer Paralympics.[4]

Yasur trains at the Sharabi Martial Arts club in Ramla, Israel, coached by Israeli trainer Yechiam Sharabi.[5]
