He is the current dean of the faculty,[1] the chairman of the Hebrew University for the Youth, and a former vice-rector of the Hebrew University.[2]

Biography[edit]

Friedler was born and raised in Haifa.[3] He started his doctoral studies in Organic Chemistry under the supervision of Chaim Gilon.[3] He submitted his thesis in 2000 and received his PhD.[citation needed] In the same year, Friedler moved on to the United Kingdom, where he stayed as a post-doctoral fellow in the Medical Research Council (MRC) Centre for Protein Engineering in Cambridge, under the supervision of Alan Fersht.[3]

In 2004, Friedler returned to Israel and joined the Institute of Chemistry of the Hebrew University as a senior lecturer. In 2009 he was promoted to associate professor and, in 2015, to full professor. Between 2010–2015 he was the head of the School of Chemistry.[3]
