The untitled Downton Abbey: A New Era sequel is an upcoming historical drama film and the sequel to the 2022 film Downton Abbey: A New Era, and the third and final film in the series. The film was directed by Simon Curtis and written by Julian Fellowes, the creator and writer of the television series of the same name.

In March 2024, Imelda Staunton who portrays Maud, confirmed that a third and final film in the Downtown Abbey series was in the works, with the main cast returning.[1]

In May, Paul Giamatti and Dominic West were announced as being part of the cast, reprising their roles as Harold Levinson and Guy Dexter respectively, alongside Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan in undisclosed roles.[2]

Filming[edit]

Principal photography began on May 13, 2024.[2]
