Rana Sikandar Hayat

Rana Sikandar Hayat is a Pakistani politician who has been a Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab since 2024.

Political career[edit]

After completing his education, his political journey started in 2017 as Chairman of Kasur. Then in 2018, Mr. Sikandar became the Mayor of Kasur District. He did a lot of developmental social and welfare work in the area. He emerged as a popular and admirable personality among the youth. In 2024, he contested the provincial assembly election as a non-league candidate from PP 183. Which was a very difficult task because his opponent was Sardar Asif Nakai who was considered invincible. But Mr. Sikandar defeated Sardar Asif Nakai by a lead of around 12000, which is considered a historic feat for a young politician. Mr. Sikandar is chosen as the Minister of Education in Punjab due to this historic achievement. And Mr. Sikandar deserve this position because he himself is a promising young man and has the passion to work and wants to bring innovation in the education system of our country. Mr. Sikandar has appealed to every institution of the country, social media, electronic media and general public to support him in the matter of education so that he can brighten the future of his country. And Mister Sikandar likes to call himself the soldier of education He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from Constituency PP-183 Kasur-IX as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) in 2024 Pakistani general election.[1]

On 6 March, he was inducted into the provincial cabinet of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz[2] and was appointed as Provincial Minister of Punjab for School Education and Literacy & Non-formal Basic Education.[3]
