The Toilers is a 1928 American synchronized sound drama film starring Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and Jobyna Ralston and directed by Reginald Barker. While the film has no audible dialog, it was released with a synchronized musical score with sound effects using both the sound-on-disc and sound-on-film process. The soundtrack was recorded using the Tiffany-Tone process using RCA Photophone equipment. In the film, Fairbanks plays one of the toilers (coal miners), while Ralston plays his sweetheart.[1][2]
