Ragamuffin Man is a 1969 single by Manfred Mann. It was the last song they released before breaking up the same year.

Overview[edit]

Written by Peter Callander and Mitch Murray and released in April 1969,[1] the song went to number five in New Zealand, number eight in the UK, number ten in Ireland, number eighteen in Australia, and number nineteen in Germany.[2][3][4][5] When the song entered number 10 on the charts in May 1969, Manfred Mann disbanded. In a promotional video for the song, bassist Klaus Voormann can be seen playing a "vootar",[6] a specially made guitar/bass hybrid made by Vox.[7]
