Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Electronic Materials (SIEM) was established in 2019, focuses on high-end electronic packaging materials for integrated circuits. It is one of the top ten institutes in Shenzhen jointly established by Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology and the People's Government of Bao'an District of Shenzhen City.[1]

On January 6, 2019, Wang Weizhong awarded the Electronic Materials Institute a license; on April 26, and on the 27th, the Shenzhen Advanced Institute of Technology and the Baoan District Government Signed a contract to jointly build SIEM; on May 20, the first board of directors of the SIEM announced its establishment and held its first meeting; on June 19, SIEM was registered and established as a municipal-level second-class public institution.[2]

On December 30, 2020, SIEM held an opening ceremony and landed in Longwangmiao Industrial Park.[3]
