Multi-role support ship (United Kingdom)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Multi-Role Support Ship (MRSS) is a class of six multi-mission amphibious assault ships in development for the United Kingdom's Royal Navy. They were first announced as part of the British government's 2021 defence white paper Defence in a Competitive Age.[1] Funding for the ships was announced on 14 May 2024 at the Sea Power Conference in London.[2] They will replace the service's two Albion-class landing platform docks, three Bay-class landing ship docks and RFA Argus support ship.
