He contested a by-election against Zahid Akram Durrani the same year. In addition to his political career, Shah is involved in social welfare, overseeing a madrassa and orphanage in Bannu. His victory in the 2024 Pakistani general election from NA-39, Bannu, with 147,087 votes marks a significant moment, being the first non-JUI candidate to win a National Assembly seat in the District since 1993.[3]
