Hazard; or, Pearce Dyceton's Crime is a 1872 Australian stage play by Walter Cooper.

Academic Richard Fotheringham said the characters of Rawes "is an example of a stock figure in a number of later Australian plays: polite, effete and very British, good-hearted but ignorant of and unsuited to rough living conditions."[3]

Reception[edit]

The Sydney Morning Herald said " the story is eminently dramatic, the dialogue sparkling, the situatious good, and the o in-trusts of character clear and decided, without bßing over drawn."[4]

The Sydney Mail said "It is hardly to be commended that the legitimate drama should be put aside for pieces so murderously sensational."[5]

The Evening News said it was "the best piece" from the author.[6]

The play was produced on stage in the USA.

The play was revived in Australia in 1875.[7]
