Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay (lit.'How Long I've Been Waiting') is a 1998 Filipino romantic drama film directed by Rory B. Quintos from a story and screenplay written by Mari L. Mariano, with Olivia M. Lamasan co-wrote the latter.[1] It stars Judy Ann Santos and Rico Yan in the lead roles while supporting cast includes Gloria Sevilla, Dante Rivero, Jennifer Sevilla, and Bernard Palanca. The film's theme song "Kay Tagal" was sung by April Boy Regino from the words and music written by Andrei Dionisio, courtesy of Alpha Records.

Produced and distributed by Star Cinema, the film was theatrically released on October 14, 1998. In 2022, the film was digitally restored and remastered in 4K resolution by ABS-CBN Film Restoration and Central Digital Lab.[1]

Synopsis[edit]

Ana Cordero (Judy Ann Santos) is an advertising secretary and the breadwinner of the family. Alex Medina (Rico Yan) on the other hand is a frustrated businessman who dreams to own his restaurant.

First met in Vigan. The two started on the wrong foot. Nonetheless became friends while on vacation. Alex and Ana find attraction and admiration for each other nevertheless Ana declares that the feelings should be ended before they go back to the real world for there will be no room for love.

However, fate has its ways when Alex sees Ana walking on her way to work (Manila), chases and invites her to dinner. The two did not take time to become a couple. Love and care for each other's dreams only to realize the differences and sacrifices they need to make for the love to work. Complications came to the relationship to quiver, Ana's family who have her choose over them, or Alex and Sandy, Alex's close friend who has an enduring love for him.
