Heart Beat: Rhythm of Love is an 2024 Indian Tamil-language television series written by Deepak Sundarrajan and directed by Deepak Sundarrajan and Adbul Kabeez for Disney+ Hotstar. The series is apparently inspired by Grey's Anatomy.[1] Based around RK Multispeciality Hospital and its doctors, who are resilient as they deal with medical and personal challenges.[2]
The principal characters of the series include Deepa Balu, Anumol and Charukesh with Yogalakshmi, Sharmila Thapa, Charukesh, Guru Lakshman, Padine Kumar, Shabaresh, RG Ram and Sarvhaa. It premiered on 8 March 2024.[3]
Synopsis[edit]
The series follows the life of Reena (Deepa Balu), the estranged daughter of prestigious general surgeon Radhi (Anumol), starting from her acceptance into the surgical residency program at the fictional RK Hospital. During her time as an intern, Reena works alongside fellow physicians Teju (Yogalakshmi), Naveen (RG Ram), Rocky (Sabaresh) and Guna (Sarvhaa), who each struggle to balance their personal lives with hectic schedules and stressful residency requirements.

Development[edit]
The series was announced by Disney+ Hotstar[4][5] on begin 2024, which ventured into Tamil web series with hit series such as Mathagam and Label,[6] has now announced a new Tamil medical series titled Heart Beat: The Rhythm of Life. The series is written and directed by Deepak Sundarrajan, and produced by Padmini Velu and Rajavelu under the Tele Factory Productions.[7]
Casting[edit]
Malayalam actress Anumol,[8][9] who plays a pivotal role in the series. YouTuber Deepa Balu was cast as the central protagonist 'Reena'.
Release[edit]
The first trailer was released on 9 February 2024 featuring to Reena (Deepa Balu), a doctor on her first day at work explaining the four drastically different worlds she encounters inside the hospital, similar to the four chambers of the human heart.[10]
It was announced on 11 February that the series would be released in Tamil and other Indian languages and would make its streaming debut on 8 March 2024.[11] coinciding with International Women's Day.[12]

The first theme song was released 25 January 2024 on the Disney+ Hotstar YouTube Channel.[13]
