The Pashdan Dam, also known as Band-e Pashdan, is located about 25 km (16 mi) northeast of Herat, Afghanistan, in the Karukh District of Herat Province.[3] It is a gravity dam with a side channel spillway and a power station, which is expected to be operational by 2025. Once completed, the dam will produce up to 2 megawatts of electricity and provide irrigation water to over 13,000 ha (32,000 acres) of agriculture land.[4] Its reservoir will be able to store up to 54 million cubic meters of water.[2][5]
