Mehndi Wala Ghar (transl. The House Of Henna) is an Indian Hindi-language drama television series that premiered on 23 January 2024 on Sony Entertainment Television. Produced by Shashi Mittal and Sumeet Mittal under Shashi Sumeet Productions, the series stars Shruti Anand and Shehzad Sheikh.[1][2]

Plot[edit]

In the Agarwal joint family, there are four brothers, Ajay, Vijay, Manoj and Akshay, and their sister, Manisha. Manisha's marriage is fixed with Amit, whose sister's marriage is fixed with Manoj. Manoj leaves the house on his wedding, to marry his love, Ajanta. Furious, Vijay leaves the house with his wife Tanvi and son Rahul, to become more successful than Manoj. Ajay, his wife, Swara, and son, Vaibhav, leave the house to pay off loans. Manisha and Akshay are left heartbroken and begin to hate their elder siblings.

24 years later[edit]

Manoj lives in Mumbai with his wife Ajanta, son Manas and adoptive daughter Mauli, whom he marries to his son. Manas breaks his marriage with Mauli as he loves Aashna and leaves the house. Mauli keeps her wedding annulment a secret from Manoj, who tells her about his wish to return to her home in Ujjain and apologise to his family which include his aunt Janaki, uncle Hari and father Narayan. Mauli, Ajanta and Manoj leave for Ujjain to fulfill his wish.

Mauli brings back Vijay, who now lives in London, Tanvi, their son Rahul and Rohit, and Ajay, who live in Jabalpur with Swara, Vaibhav, his wife Saloni and their daughter Guddi, home. Akshay is now married to Jyoti and has two children, Golu and Mini. While, Manisha has remained unmarried, which fills Manoj with more guilt. It is revealed that Vaibhav is Tanvi and Vijay's son and Tanvi gave him to Swara, who could not bear a child.

Mauli strikes a friendship with Rahul, who supports her through her struggle to reunite the family. Mauli saves Mini from marrying Vicky, who beats her, this leads to his mother Suprabha hating the family, for their disrespect and for breaking the marriage. Manas returns to the house, to gain Manoj's wealth and Janaki forces Mauli to marry him again. Mauli, with the help of Rahul, reveals Manas' true face and runs away with Aashna. Manoj breaks his relationship with Ajanta, who is blamed for helping Manas. Through these instances, she is able to reunite the family. Rahul meets with an accident, which leads Mauli to realise her love for him.

Manisha is in love with Karan, Vicky's uncle. With the help of Mauli and Rahul, Karan wins over the family and his and Manisha's marriage is fixed. Rahul's childhood friend Rati comes to India, and Tanvi fixes his marriage with her, much to Rahul's dismay. Manoj forgives Ajanta and the four daughter-in-laws of the family bond after many misunderstandings. The Agarwal family wins a cricket match against the Chaudhary family, forcing Suprabha to attend the wedding against her will. She decides to avenge the family with the help of Amit, Manisha's ex-fiancé.
