Crystal Carson (born June 24, 1967) is an American actress and acting coach, best known for playing Julia Barrett on General Hospital.
Early life[edit]
She is the oldest of 4 children.[1] Her father, who managed the circulation department at the Omaha World Herald, died from cancer when Carson was 7.[1]
She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in theater and a minor in computer science.[1]
Career[edit]
She began acting as a teen, doing community theater and working as an extra in Terms of Endearment.[1]
Her early credits include guest appearances on Cheers, Thirtysomething, Midnight Caller, Simon & Simon, Charles in Charge, Night Court and Dallas. She also appeared in the Madonna film Who's That Girl and Killer Tomatoes Strike Back with John Astin.[2]
She played the contract role of Julia Barrett on the ABC soap opera General Hospital from 1991-1993, returning for guest appearances in 1997 and 1998.[2][3]
After General Hospital, she had a recurring role on JAG.[2]
She now has a full-time career as an acting coach, running the Auditioning By Heart acting school. Her clients have included David Boreanaz, Tricia Helfer, and Paula Abdul.[4]
Personal life[edit]
She married Peter Bradley in July 1990.[1] They have a daughter.[3]
Carson announced in 2021 that she was undergoing treatment for stage 3 breast cancer.[5]
