Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, commonly known as CGC Jhanjeri, is a private educational institution in Mohali, Punjab, affiliated with I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University.[1] It holds the prestigious National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) A+ accreditation, achieving a noteworthy CGPA of 3.46/4.

In 2012, CGC Jhanjeri was founded as a private campus that specializes in providing a comprehensive range of academic programs, including Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Paramedical Science, and Computer Applications, among others.

Even after sharing same brand name i.e. "Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC)" with CGC Landran and CGC Gharaun or Chandigarh University, the three colleges run under different administrations. CGC Jhanjeri was established in the year 2012 and run by Chandigarh Educational Society, Jhanjeri. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal serves as the President of the college.[2][3][4] The college has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and respective managing bodies of Govt. of India.

CGC Jhanjeri offers a comprehensive range of academic programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, encompassing disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Commerce, Computer Application, Journalism, Fashion Designing, and Paramedical Science. Notably, in 2021, the institution introduced additional courses in emerging fields, including Law, Pharmacy, and Humanities.

Annually, CGC Jhanjeri campus has attracted over 800+ multinational corporations, including esteemed entities like Amazon, Infosys, Microsoft, Google, HCL, Capgemini, IBM, Tech Mahindra, hp, Byjus, extending more than 8500+ job offers. CGC Jhanjeri bagged the highest package by an on-campus placement of 45.5 LPA at Amazon.

Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal[edit]

Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal is the founder of both CCG Jhanjeri[5][6] and CGC Landran.[7][8] In 2000, he collaborated with Satnam Singh Sandhu to establish CGC Landran. Subsequently, in 2012, he undertook the founding of CGC Jhanjeri.[9][10][11][12]

Demonstrating his commitment to education, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal inaugurated Chandigarh Law College at CGC. Jhanjeri in July 2021, where he currently holds the position of President across both campuses of CGC. Collaborating with Satnam Singh Sandhu, the chairman of CGC, in 2010, he facilitated an open platform through a strategic alliance with Punjab Infotech. This initiative, involving students and faculty, sought to computerize government offices, including correctional facilities, within the province of Punjab.[13]

Serving as President across both campuses, Dhaliwal instituted the "earn while you learn" program in 2012, providing students with practical experiences. A member of PUTIA. he received the ET Inspiring North-Chandigarh Leader's Award in 2021 for his exceptional contributions to education.[14]

  • In 2023, CGC Jhanjeri was awarded Excellence In Delivering Quality Education by Mr. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu (CM - Himachal Pradesh).
  • CGC Jhanjeri was awarded Iconic College Of The Year 2023 by Mr. Harjot Singh Bains, Hon’ble Education Minister - Punjab in 2023.
  • In 2022, CGC Jhanjeri bagged the National Employability Award by Amcat.

  • In 2018, CGC Jhanjeri was awarded with Best Placements Award in Punjab by Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister of Punjab (India).
  • CGC Jhanjeri was also awarded Best Educational Institute in Punjab by Brand Icon which was presented by Shilpa Shetty.
  • In 2017, CGC Jhanjeri was in the top three institutes selected for the post-development activities of Smart India Hackathon 2017 (a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Education (India)).[18]
  • CGC Jhanjeri was awarded with "Best Placements Award" during the National Education Excellence Awards 2016.[19]

Social Responsibility[edit]

  • In 2018, the college group spread the awareness to empower India through a flashmob performed by 200 students in Sukhna Lake[20]
  • CGC Jhanjeri in collaboration with Fortis Healthcare organized a talk show to spread COVID-19 pandemic awareness among the nearby village and rural residents[21] and distributed Sanitizers and food essentials to them.
  • In 2020 during Covid, CGC Jhanjeri launched Covid scholarships worth ₹2 Crores to counter coronavirus financial crises to the needy students.[22]
  • In 2021, the college launched the CGC Jhanjeri Open Scholarship for Higher Education (JOSH) offering scholarship up to 5 crores to counter second wave of coronavirus financial crises[23] especially in states like Uttarakhand[24] and Jammu and Kashmir (union territory).[25]

CGC JOSH Scholarship[edit]

We at CGC Jhanjeri believe that higher education is one of the most lucrative investments a student can make & any financial setback shouldn't ruin their chances of building a great career. Therefore, we have developed the CGC Jhanjeri Open Scholarship for Higher Education – A Scholarship Test that offers scholarships up to 12 Crore. It financially assists students aspiring to pursue Engineering, Management, Commerce, Law, Computer Application, Journalism, Pharmacy &  Paramedical Sciences courses at CGC Jhanjeri.
