Next Cabinet

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Next Cabinet (次の内閣, tsugi no naikaku) is the de facto shadow cabinet of Japan, first used from 1999 to 2009, and from 2012 to 2017 when the Democratic Party of Japan and its 2016 successor were the country's main opposition party to the Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito's governing coalition. The Next Cabinet was unused since 2017,[1] but was revived by the Constitutional Democratic Party in 2022 under party leader Kenta Izumi for the Next Japanese general election.[2][3]
