High school career[edit]

Rushing played his first snap of high school football in his sophomore year. He recorded 75 tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. He played a total of 14 games. [2]

In his junior year, Rushing almost duplicated the amount of tackles from the previous year with 73, and improved upon his tackles for loss, sacks, and forced fumble stats despite playing two less games.[3]

In senior year, he had a decrease in tackles of about 20, but improved on his TFL and sack numbers with 17.5 TFLs and 13.5 sacks, respectably.

On July 6, 2023, Rushing, a 5-star recruit, committed to the University of Arizona, where he would have played alongside his brother, safety Cruz Rushing.[4]

Rushing decommitted three months later on October 6, 2023 and soon after, committed to Oregon.[5]
