UnionTech (Chinese: 联泰科技[3]), fully known as Shanghai Union Technology Corp.,[4] is a Chinese 3D printer manufacturer[5] founded by Bo Zou in 2000.[6] The company focuses on the applications of 3D printing technology, and specializes in making industrial 3D printers.[7] After its formation, the firm was backed by Evonik Venture Capital,[8] Dragonrise Capital,[9] and Goldstone Investment.[10] Its products are applied in education, automotive, aerospace and other industries.[11]

Headquartered in Shanghai,[12] UnionTech established operations in Germany,[13] Vietnam, and the United States,[14] among others. The company was previously listed on the NEEQ.[15] In September 2022, it completed a pre-IPO round of financing.[16] In May 2023, the firm made a pre-listing tutoring filing with the Shanghai Securities Regulatory Bureau.[17]

History[edit]

UnionTech started photolithography in China in 2000.[18] In 2015, it received its first round of funding.[19] In 2016, it entered North America.[20] In the same year, RP Sales America became its distributor.[21]

In 2017, UnionTech launched PILOT 3D printers.[22] In the same year, Ohio-based Aerosport purchased a stereolithography 3D printer from the company.[23] In 2018, it opened a SL demonstration center in Chicago.[24]

In December 2020, a minority stake in UnionTech was acquired by Evonik through its venture capital arm.[25] In November 2021, the company raised $30 million in Series D funding.[26]
