The Suburban Times is an online newspaper and community billboard in southwest Pierce County in Washington state, United States. Its coverage spans across several communities, including Lakewood, University Place, Fircrest, Steilacoom, DuPont, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.[1]

Established in 2005,[2] the focus of The Suburban Times is local community news and events. The Suburban Times publishes articles on local business, schools and higher education, civic groups, community organizations, public safety, local law enforcement, arts and entertainment, historical groups, and other information.[1] As recently as 2021, the Suburban Times also began publishing online obituaries.[3]

In 2021, the site published an official statement saying they would not longer be publishing content related to elections or electoral candidates, with publisher Ben Sinclair stating that his goal in establishing the site was "providing a place for positive news and information and announcements and events and thoughts about our shared communities," and not "in operating a website where neighbors spew vitriol at one another."[2]

The newspaper is available on the web, in a daily e-mail edition, or by RSS.[4][5]
