"Hands Up" is the 24th single by Kis-My-Ft2, released on July 10, 2019, by Avex Trax.[1]

This song features aggressive and intense dancing. The dance that is performed violently to the lyrics of the chorus part of this song was named the "Boom Boom Dance".[2] The song "Twamusubi" included in the first edition B is a commercial song for Recruit (company)'s "Zexy Enmusubi"(Marriage Information Magazine) in which the members appear.[3] [1]

Released in three versions: first edition A/B and regular edition.

  • First Edition A (CD + DVD) includes the ending song "OPaPiPo" from dTV(Lemino)'s regular distribution program "Kiss My Doki Doki!" The accompanying DVD contains the title track, "Happiness", and the ending song "OPaPiPo" from the regular dTV program "Kiss My Dokidoki-n! The accompanying DVD contains the music video for the title track "Hands Up".
  • First Edition B (CD + DVD) includes the love ballad "Eien-musubi", which is currently airing as the commercial song for Recruit's "Zexy Enmusubi" featuring the members. The DVD includes "Lulalulala -Hug movie-," a special video of the song "Lulalulala" from their latest album "Free Hugs!".
  • Regular Edition (CD) contains four songs including "Manatsu to Taiyo", which is currently airing as the commercial song for Kowa (company)'s "Unakowa Cool" featuring the members, and "Go for it!

This is the first single in about 5 months since the last one, and the first single for theirself in 2021. All members except Wataru Yokoo have solo parts. The jacket photo was released on June 17, 2019.

Chart performance[edit]

The song debuted at No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking dated July 22, 2019. This is their 24th consecutive No. 1 appearance since their debut single "Everybody Go".[4]

First-week sales: 196,438 copies (Oricon count).

By December 8, 2019, the album had sold a total of 211,888 copies, earning it #32 on the annual Oricon Album Ranking for 2019.
