Sing Street and producing[edit]

At 16, Bartos originated the role of Darren in the musical Sing Street for its 2019 workshops[2] and off-Broadway run at New York Theatre Workshop.[3] He was cast in his junior year of high school and moved to New York City to act in the show until the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020.[4] He graduated from the Stone Independent School in 2021, and moved back to New York soon afterwards.[citation needed] Bartos had been cast to continue with Sing Street for its transfer to Broadway.[5][6][7][8] The musical was initially expected to begin preview performances on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre on March 26, 2020, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[9][10][11] Nevertheless, a cast recording featuring the original Broadway cast was released on April 22, 2020.[12][13] The cast reunited online shortly after the shutdown to perform Sing Street: Grounded, a shortened version of the show performed over zoom as a fundraiser for the Actors Fund.[14][15][16][17] Bartos also participated in fundraising during COVID-19 as part of the DEA Educational Foundation's efforts.[18] Bartos also appears videos that were made in preparation for the Broadway run of Sing Street.[19][20][21][22]

In 2019, he began producing theatre, with a teen production of Edges.[23] In mid-2020 he produced a socially distanced cabaret performance with all of the proceeds going to charity.[24] The following year, he produced and directed Green Day's American Idiot.[25][26][27] Sing Street played outside of New York after the American theatres reopened, but Bartos did not return to the cast.[28]

In October 2023, he released his second album "Memento Mori", a folk rock concept album about a ghost mourning his separation from his bride after his death, and yearning to return to her. Bartos's first single from this album, Carry Me Home, featured Tali Golergant, a 2024 Eurovision Song Contest finalist. [29] Bartos and his band toured to promote "Memento Mori".[30]
