ORYX Motors is a pioneering Algerian vehicle manufacturer founded in July 2017.[2] The company is notable for producing the first domestically designed and manufactured Algerian car,[3] the Oryx timgad.[4][5] The cars are assembled in Tunisia.[1]

Oryx Timgad[edit]

ORYX Motors's current focus is on pickup trucks. Their first model, the Timgad Oryx, is a two-door pickup featuring a 1.6L PSA gasoline engine. The Timgad Oryx prioritizes robustness, reliability, affordability, and fuel efficiency. It also boasts a well-finished interior and modern amenities like ABS brakes, dual airbags, air conditioning, and the option to install a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) conversion kit.[6]

ORYX Motors plans to expand their offerings in the future. Their roadmap includes the development of a double-cabin pickup truck and a dedicated off-road vehicle.

Oryx Motors reportedly partnered with international engineering firms and automotive parts suppliers to develop the Timgad. Their goal was to create a vehicle suited to the Algerian market, with a focus on affordability and robustness. The Timgad is a compact, 4x2 pickup truck manufactured by Oryx Motors, an Algerian automobile manufacturer. Introduced in 2017, it is the first and currently only model produced by the company [7]
