The 2024–25 PBA season, or PBA Season 49, will be the 49th season of the Philippine Basketball Association.
The league reverts to a three conference format starting with the Governors' Cup followed by the Commissioner's Cup. [1][2] The season will be capped by the Philippine Cup and is meant to coincide with the PBA's 50th founding anniversary.[3] The first two conferences allows an import per team while the last tournament is exclusive to Filipinos.[4]
The height cap for imports for the Commissioner's Cup is scrapped starting this season.[3] The previous cap is set to 6 ft 10 in (208 cm). The height limit for the Governor's Cup is retained and imports taller than 6 ft 6 in (198 cm) are ineligible to compete.[4]
Teams[edit]
Changes from previous season:
- Negotiations are ongoing for the possible entry of a team from the East Asia Super League as a guest team for the Commissioner's Cup.[2]
