The 2023–24 season is the 149th season in the history of Aston Villa Football Club, their fifth consecutive season in the Premier League, and their 110th overall season in the top flight of English football. In addition to playing in the domestic league, the club are participating in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League, the latter being their first European campaign since the 2010–11 season.

Pre-season and friendlies[edit]

Villa announced a tour of the United States to take part in the Premier League Summer Series pre-season tournament with matches against Newcastle United, Fulham and Brentford.[67] On 2 June 2023, a friendly at the Bescot Stadium against Lazio and the traditional pre-season friendly against Walsall were announced.[68] On 12 June 2023, a friendly was announced for an Aston Villa XI with local non-league club Rushall Olympic.[69] On 19 June, an away match with Valencia for the Orange Trophy was also added to the pre-season schedule.[70]
