Cambridge, MA; Litchfield, CT; Peterskill, NY

Looks like the Summer is blown. The wall painting adventure of August 2007 nears completion. My parents threatened to come visit the weekend of the 7th in lieu of the Richard Serra exhibit at the MoMA closing, but instead they wait for backhoes to clear land for the new workshop/studio efficiency my dad is building. Zoe and I went to visit her Korean grandmother for her birthday up in Lexington, MA. Whilst there we went out with Evan (almost done with his Phd.) and James and Meredith (seemingly happy with their school and work there). We did a little bouldering at Hammond Pond near the Newton Central Mall. Went to the large cemetery outside of Cambridge which was pretty. I came back and worked some more studio and rigging days. Then went up north to Litchfield, CT and Torrington, CT to work for Campbell Scott (the actor) who’s directing an ultra-low-budget mockumentary/reality TV style feature called “Company Retreat”. Ryan and I went top-roping in Peterskill this past Tuesday and set all our own protection, thankfully there were a few bolted anchors. We had to make good use of the 60 ft. 11 mil static line though. Aris Blevins is in town for a wedding. I haven’t seen him in 6 years or whatever it was since USC. Just before I compound fractured my wrist in fact, after I had flown in from New Zealand was the last time I saw him… (8 hours later)… had a good lunch and coffee and beers with Aris, he’s doing well. His wedding is in Long Island City and he has a friend in Bushwick and Greenpoint. Anyhow, all is good. It’s like 6 years disappeared. So that was nice. Here are some photos.

Humedad Relativa

This was from last week. It’s hot. Those lights were hot. I went climbing in the ‘Gunks up some “classic” trad routes on the big walls up there near New Paltz this past weekend with Bill from MPHC. Zoe and I are going head up to Boston this weekend to see some of Zoe’s fam. The days have been pretty full and busy with work and Zoe painting and decorating the apartment. The 500 GB hard drive seems to be failing, perhaps due to File System issues with large drives. And it’s sad, as the music server dream was so close, yet so far. I am tempted to cut back to one bicycle. Say a nice steel single-speed cross bicycle. That was always a dream, I remember. Molly certainly remembers the days of only white French single-speed ‘cross bicycles. But I digress. I’ve been up to CT a couple of times for major’s work and days Tier 2 rigging. Zoe still makes more money than me I think. But if I were to work something like 320 days a year, I might win. Because that is what this is all about right, winning?

Needless to say, everyone was hot and the tape peeled.
