The Póka de Nagysalamon family is an ancient Hungarian noble family originated from the Solomon genus. They probably originated from the Vezekény[1] or Osl or rather the Záh genera.[2]hu:Záh nemzetség

History[edit]

Son of Miklós Solomon (lived around 1242) was named Póka. He is the progenitor of the Póka de Nagysalamon family. His younger brother László (1274-1302) was ancestor of the House of Esterhazy, one of the richest and most distinguished Hungarian noble families.[3]

In 1697 King Leopold I of Hungary ennobled the Póka family. The coat of arms can be found in the Hungarian National Archives.[4][1]

Ancestors of the Cziráky and Noszlopy families are thought to be descending from the Póka family, too.
