Zir Tang (Persian: زيرتنگ), also Romanized as Zīr Tang; also known as Zīrtang Bījanvand,[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Bijnavand Rural District of Zagros District, Chardavol County, Ilam province, Iran.[4] The village is populated by Kurds.[5]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 501 in 110 households, when it was in the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 487 people in 119 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 469 people in 124 households,[2] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Zagros District.[4]
