The 1939–40 Gold Cup was the 28th edition of the Gold Cup, a cup competition in Northern Irish football.[1]

The tournament was won by Belfast Celtic for the 5th time and 2nd consecutive season, defeating Linfield 1–0 in the final at Grosvenor Park.[2]
