Heera Nagar
Heera Nagar is the area bordering DCM Ajmer Road near Vaishali Nagar in Jaipur, India. It has been named after the yadav or Ahir community which inhabited the area of Heerapura (area from DCM Ajmer Road to Gandhi path near Vaishali nagar) after migrating from Ahirwal or Hirana (Khetri, Behror, Tijara, Rewari, Mahendragarh,Narnaul).
Etymology[edit]
The word "Heer" is pronunciation of word Ahir in local dialects of Rajasthan and Haryana. The Rajasthani and Haryanvi dialect Hirwati is also named after the same community.[1]

Locally known Heerapura (not to be confused with Heerapura-Heerawala) includes Bhura Patel Nagar (named after a yadav), Chitrakoot sector 9, Heera Nagar etc.
