Amantia peruana infasciata is a subspecies of lanternfly[1] found in Peru.[2]

Description[edit]

The head is red and the prothorax peach. The mesothorax and scutellum are brown. The eyes are red and the tegmen is black to very dark red with bright veins. At the apex of the tegmen, there are 2 wavy fasciae, the more basal one slightly thicker. Spots are not present on the tegmen. The fasciae and the absence of spots will differentiate it from Amantia peruana peruana.[2]

Etymology[edit]

In-, a negative prefix and fasciate. Probably because of the thinner stripes.
