He later studied at King's College at the University of Cambridge.[1] Rae spent the 1930s in British India, where he made two appearances apiece in first-class cricket between 1936 and 1938 for the Europeans cricket team and Madras.[2] He scored 122 runs in these matches,[3] with his highest score of 98 coming for the Europeans against the Indians in 1936.[4] Rae was an emergency commission as a second lieutenant into the Royal Armoured Corps in April 1940.[5] Rae later died at Exeter in October 1989.
