Ethnicity[edit]

The Mahiyanganaya Polling Division has a Sinhalese majority (98.2%) . In comparison, the Badulla Electoral District (which contains the Mahiyanganaya Polling Division) has a Sinhalese majority (73.0%) and a significant Indian Tamil population (18.5%) [1]
