Kore Kaite Shine (これ描いて死ね, lit.'Draw This and Die') is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Minoru Toyoda [ja]. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's Monthly Shōnen Sunday magazine since November 2021, with its chapters collected into five tankōbon volumes as of February 2024.

In 2023, Kore Kaite Shine was awarded the 16th Manga Taishō.

Plot[edit]

Yasumi Ai is a first-year high school student living on Izu Ōshima, an island that is part of Tokyo prefecture. She loves to read manga, but a certain event triggered her to start thinking about creating manga. The world that awaits her and the pain and joy of creating works of art is spared.

Publication[edit]

Written and illustrated by Minoru Toyoda [ja], Kore Kaite Shine began serialization in Shogakukan's Monthly Shōnen Sunday magazine on November 12, 2021.[2][3] The first tankōbon volume was released on May 12, 2022.[4] As of February 2024, five volumes have been released.[5]

Reception[edit]

In 2022, Kore Kaite Shine was nominated in the eighth Next Manga Awards in the Print Manga category, where it placed sixteenth out of 50 nominees.[10] It ranked sixth in the 2023 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! list of best manga for male readers.[11] The series won the 16th Manga Taishō in 2023.[12][1]
