Olena Kovalska (Ukrainian: Олена Олександрівна Ковальська; born 7 March 1974) is a Ukrainian politician who serves as deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine since 29 March 2024. She was the Head of the Cabinet of the Head of the Presidential Office and a member of the Presidential Working Group on the establishment of a tribunal to try the Russian authorities for the crime of aggression. Previously, she worked as a marketing director in the banking sector, in particular at Oschadbank.

Early life

She was born on 7 March 1974.

In 1996, she graduated from the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, specialising in civil engineering. In 2009, she completed her studies at The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Career

In 2008, she held the position of Marketing Supervisor at McDonald's in Ukraine. In 2008–2009, she worked as Head of Advertising and Communications at Metro AG hypermarket chain. In 2009–2011, she was marketing director at Farmastore.

In 2012–2016, Olena Kovalska worked as the marketing director of JSC Bank Renaissance Credit (part of the FUIB Group) and First Ukrainian International Bank.

In 2016–2021, she worked as the Director of Marketing at Oschadbank. In this position, she reformed the bank's brand, its repositioning and marketing policy.

For the implemented strategy of launching the "Build Your Own" brand, Oschadbank was the first among state-owned companies to receive one Effie Award.

He works on a voluntary basis in charitable organisations, including the chairman of the board of SOS Children's Villages (Ukraine-Austria).

Since 2021, she has been working in the Office of the President of Ukraine, where she held the position of Head of the Main Department of Strategic Communications of the Directorate of Information Policy.

Since 2022, she has been the Head of the Cabinet of the Head of the Presidential Office. She is a member of the Presidential Working Group on the establishment of a tribunal to judge the Russian authorities for the crime of aggression.

Since 2024, she has been the deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Family

Her father is Oleksandr Pavlovych Kovalskyi (1937–1995) he was a corresponding member of the Academy of Architecture of Ukraine, professor at the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture. Her mother is Tetiana Adolfivna Kovalska.

Her grandfather is Pavlo Oleksiiovych Kovalskyi, Ukrainian Soviet neuromorphologist, professor, one of the founders of the Ukrainian school of anatomists, histologists and embryologists.
