The Major Clubs T20 Tournament , is a domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Sri Lanka, The competition was established by the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in 2022.It is the top-level Twenty20 competition in Sri Lanka.[1][2][3]

History[edit]

The League was established in 2022 titled as Major Clubs T20 Tournament. 22 Clubs teams participated in the event and it was a successful initiative by Sri Lanka Cricket. The champion of the first league was Sri Lanka Army for the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Competition format[edit]

The 22 Clubs Cricket Teams compete for the title, initially playing in four geographical Group, the number varying across the years. in seasons with four groups the top 1 teams in each Group qualify for the playoff stage, with a set of semi-finals leaving four teams in the competition.
