Anveshi Jain (born 25 June 1991)[1] is an Indian actress and singer. She gained recognition after her debut web series in 2018, Gandii Baat, which marked her entry into the Indian film industry.

Early life[edit]

Anveshi was born to a Jain family in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh.[1][2] She studied electronics engineering[1] at Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya and later pursued an MBA in Indore.[2] She discontinued her MBA course before moving to Mumbai.[1][3]

Career[edit]

Anveshi worked as a product designer and simultaneously took up emceeing on the side to become financially independent.[2] After moving to Mumbai, it took her three years to land her first web series, Gandii Baat, in 2018.[4][2]

In 2018, Anveshi gained recognition following her role in ALTBalaji's Gandii Baat 2, which led to subsequent opportunities in the film industry.[5]

In June 2019, Anveshi launched an official app,[6] through which she interacts with her fans through live sessions, shares unseen pictures, music videos, dating vlogs, and new shows.[7] The app was inspired by a fan-created application that initially gained 40 thousand downloads in a single day.[7] She made special appearances on BOSS: Baap of Special Services and Who's Your Daddy?.[2]

In 2020, after her role in Gandii Baat, she was cast in Lakshmikanth Chenna's Commitment, marking her Telugu debut.[8] Her success in Gandii Baat 2 played a key role in getting her the debut Telugu film, Commitment.[5] In the movie, Anveshi plays the character of Dr. Rekha Gupta, a sexologist.[5]

In September 2021, Anveshi ventured into the music industry with the release of the Hindi song "Jugnu" on SpotlampE.[9] 9XM has signed a deal to produce three songs by Anveshi including "Jugnu".[9]

She will make her Kannada film debut in the upcoming film Martin (2024), alongside Dhruva Sarja.[10]
