Alan Ryan (criminal)

Alan Ryan was a figure in organised crime in Ireland and leading figure for the Real IRA in Dublin. He was shot dead in broad daylight on 3 September 2012 by an unknown perpetrator.

Life[edit]

The Irish Independent wrote after his murder: "Ryan organised the murder of drug dealers on behalf of other drug dealers. He and his team "licensed" the narcotic trade across Dublin. If you paid, you stayed in business."[1]

In 2016 Alan Ryan's brother Vincent Ryan was ambushed and shot a number of times as he sat in a car outside his partner’s home in Finglas, Dublin. He subsequently died in hospital.

The criminal Ken Finn, who was a suspect in the murder of Alan Ryan was later shot dead in Moatview Gardens, Coolock, Dublin in 2018. He was the chief suspect in a number of gangland killings in Dublin, including Alan Ryan in 2012.[2]
