Zander Murray (born 2 November 1991) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a striker for Kirkintilloch Rob Roy.

Career[edit]

Murray played for Scottish side Pumpherston. In 2016, he signed for Scottish side Broxburn Athletic. In 2018, he returned to Scottish side Pumpherston. In 2019, he signed for Scottish side Gala Fairydean Rovers. He was described as "scored more than 100 goals for the Borders outfit, including a club record 25 goals in a single season during Gala’s 2021/22 campaign... helped Gala seal their highest-ever league finish and reach the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup final".[1] In 2023, he signed for Scottish side Bonnyrigg Rose. He debuted for the club during a 1-2 loss to Annan Athletic.[2] After that, he returned to Scottish side Gala Fairydean Rovers. In 2024, he signed for Scottish side Kirkintilloch Rob Roy.

Murray mainly operates as a striker.

Personal life[edit]

Murray came out as gay in 2022, becoming the first Scottish professional footballer to come out as gay.[3] He has worked as a career advisor.[4]
