The 4th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade (Russian: 4-я отдельная мотострелковая бригада, 4 omбр; Military Unit Number 74347) is a military unit of Russian Ground Forces. Until January 1, 2023, it was part of the Luhansk People's Militia. It is attached to the 2nd Army Corps.

History[edit]

War in Donbas[edit]

The brigade was formed in 2014. It took part in the War in Donbas.[1] The brigade's garrison was in Alchevsk.[2] In April 2017, the brigade moved it's garrison to Khrustalnyi.[3]

Russian invasion of Ukraine[edit]

The brigade took part in the Battle of Bakhmut in the Klishchiivka sector where it suffered heavy casualties including the brigade's commander Vyacheslav Makarov.[4][5] In January 2023 it became attached to the 2nd Army Corps.[6]
