Tira is an omnichannel beauty retail platform headquartered in Mumbai, India.[1][2] It is owned by Reliance Retail, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries,[3] and is headed by Isha Ambani, who serves as the executive director and is the daughter of Mukesh Ambani.[4][5][6]

Name[edit]

The name tira has been inspired by the goddess Rati, who symbolize love, passion and beauty.[7]

History[edit]

In 2021, Statista's global market research report noted that India ranked fourth in revenue from the beauty and personal care market, following the US, China, and Japan, with a projected 18.2% growth in online sales in the upcoming years. In October, 2022, Business Standard reported that "Reliance Retail was planning to launch its own beauty platform, under the name ‘Tira Beauty’. The business would also open stores in early 2023 with Jio World Drive in Mumbai as a first store location. The brand also planned an online launch for its retail concept."[8][9]

In February 2023, Reliance Retail launched Tira as an e-commerce platform, with an app, a website, and a store spanning 4300 square feet.[10] The app became operational in over 100 cities, and the first retail store was opened in the Jio World Drive mall in Mumbai.[1][11][2]

In September 2023, South Korean beauty and cosmetics conglomerate Amorepacific Corp formed a partnership with Reliance Retail.[12][13] Tira expanded its presence with two additional stores in Bengaluru and Pune.[14] Its other stores are located in cities including Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai.[15]

Campaign[edit]

Tira recently launched its first campaign, titled 'For Every You,' with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Suhana Khan.[16]
