John W. McIntyre

John W. McIntyre is an American diplomat who is the nominee to be the next US Ambassador to Eswatini.[1]
Early life and education[edit]
McIntyre earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin and his Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Kansas.[1]
Career[edit]
McIntyre is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, with the rank of Minister-Counselor. Currently, he serves as Minister-Counselor for Management Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. McIntyre has held many diplomatic roles throughout his career, including in Kingston, Jamaica; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; and Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. McIntyre has also served in Kabul, Afghanistan; and Pristina, Kosovo. Additionally, he has served in several roles within the United States Department of State.[1]
US Ambassador Nomination[edit]
On October 20, 2023, President Joe Biden nominated McIntyre to be the next ambassador to Eswatini.[1] His nomination is pending before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.[2]
Personal life[edit]
McIntyre is married to Flora Zylfijaj. The couple has two children.[1]
