Alberto Oviedo is a Colombian photographer based in New York City, specializing in lifestyle, travel, portraits, and advertising photography.

Biography[edit]

Oviedo's interest in photography developed during his college years in Colombia, while studying marketing and advertising. After graduation, he moved to the United States to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta, where he gained experience as a full-time assistant for photographer Jim Fiscus.[1][2]

Work and collaborations[edit]

Oviedo has collaborated with clients such as Altoids,[3] Coca-Cola,[4] Sprite,[5] and Virgin Voyages.[6]

Awards and recognition[edit]

Oviedo has worked as the photographer for advertising campaigns such as the "Altoids, The Curious Afterlife of a Tin" campaign created by the BBDO agency, which received recognition at the 2019 One Club ADC Awards[7] and the Clio Awards in 2017.[8] Additionally, his work with Altoids also appeared in Lürzer's Archive,[9][10] a bi-monthly magazine for the advertising industry.

Personal life[edit]

Oviedo has collaborated both personally and professionally with photographer Kathy Boos, who originates from Venezuela. The two share an interest in photography, and their partnership led to their marriage in 2016.[11] They have a son named Cristiano.[12]
