Enyalius iheringii, also known commonly as Ihering's fathead anole, is a species of lizard in the family Leiosauridae.[2] The species is endemic to Brazil.

Etymology[edit]

The specific name, iheringii, is in honor of German-Brazilian zoologist Hermann von Ihering.[3]

Geographic range[edit]

E. iheringii is found in southeastern Brazil,[2] in the Brazilian states of Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo.[1]

Habitat[edit]

The preferred natural habitat of E. iheringii is forest.[1]

Behavior[edit]

E. iheringii is terrestrial and semiarboreal.[1]

Diet[edit]

E. iheringii preys upon beetles, caterpillars, and spiders.[1]
