For the first time since 2008, South Africa entered one fencer into the Olympic competition. Harry Saner qualified for the games by winning the gold medal in the men's individual épée events, at the 2024 African Zonal Qualifying Tournament in Algiers, Algeria.[5]

For the first time since 2008, South Africa qualified one wrestler into the Olympic competition. Nicolaas de Lange qualified for the games following the triumph of winning the semifinal round at the 2024 African & Oceania Olympic Qualification Tournament in Alexandria, Egypt.[12]
