It was the first edition of the tournament and part of the 2014 ATP Challenger Tour and 2014 ITF Women's Circuit, offering a total of $50,000+H (ATP) and $25,000 (ITF) in prize money. It took place in Tianjin, China, the men's event took place from 16 to 22 June 2014 while the women's event took place from 19 to 25 May 2014.
