The High Commission of Pakistan, Malé (Urdu: مالدیپ میں پاکستان کا ہائی کمیشن, also known as the High Commission of Pakistan in Maldives) is a High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Malé, the capital of the Republic of Maldives.

History[edit]

Diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Maldives were established on 26 July 1966.[1] Later, the High Commission was opened in Malé.

It was later renamed to the Embassy of Pakistan, Malé (Urdu: مالدیپ میں پاکستان کا سفارت خانہ, also known as the Embassy of Pakistan in Maldives) from October 2016, when the Maldives left the Commonwealth of Nations.[2] It later rejoined the Commonwealth in February 2020.[3]

On 1 February 2020, when the Maldives rejoined as a Commonwealth Republic, the diplomatic mission was reverted to the High Commission of Pakistan, Malé.[3]

Ambassador / High Commissioner[edit]

The current High commissioner of Pakistan to Maldives is Vice Admiral (Rtd) Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani.[5] His predecessor, Ather Mukhtar was also a Vice Admiral (Rtd).[6]
