Kassim Basma

Kassim Basma (1960 - 29 December 2018) in Koidu Town, Sierra Leone) is a multimillionaire Sierra Leonean businessman and the second leading diamond exporter from Sierra Leone, accounting for around 38% of all official Sierra Leone diamond exports. Basma was born in Kono District in Eastern Sierra Leone.[1]

Basma was interviewed by Greg Campbell for his book Blood Diamonds: Tracing the Deadly Path of the World's Most Precious Stones (2012).[2]

Kassim Basma is dead, he died 29 Dec 2018, out of Sierra Leone.[citation needed] After the death of Kassim Basma, his son Jihad Basma took over the business.
