Marie-Augustine-Aimée-Hippolyte Lorotte (4 October 1826 – 19??) was a French pianist, organist and composer of the late Romantic period.

Life and career[edit]

Augustine Lorotte was born on 4 October 1826 in Pantin, Paris, France.[1][2][3] She started her education at the Paris Conservatory at the age of 10, where she studied until 1854. In 1842, she won the first prize in the annual competition for harmony and accompaniment. In 1954, Lorotte won the first prize in the organ competition. From 1844 to 1859, she taught solfège at the Conservatory. She composed many pieces for organ and voice between 1857 and 1866.
